Niantic announced some NEW updates including more shirts, return of Alolan Exeggutor, more grass-type moves on PVP, an easter event with more flower crown pokemon, among other updates that made the players say "WTF", because we know that what we want more than anything is raids from home and interaction with pokestops within our sight range.

While most countries are on lockdown, it is becoming quite obvious that things will not be the same after the quarantine period finishes. While some economic sectors will reactivate gradually to keep people working and prevent the economy from falling, many measures will be enforced to keep people in their homes for as long as posible, and keep outside interaction to a minimum. ¿Social events? Yeah, they wont be allowed for a good chunk of time. :( 

I guess Niantic knows that, and will have to adapt and change to a more indoor gameplay style.
